Epoxy putty is widely used around the aquarium hobby because it is non-toxic and easy to use. The color of the putty allows it to blend in with its surroundings making it easier to hide than other types of adhesives used in aquariums. It is recommended to use a minimal amount since most corals will grow over the adhesive in a matter of weeks.
Re: Can anyone recommend best glue/epoxy for holding stones together? Two options, aquarium silicone (or GE RTV-108 ), or for a stronger hold try reef putty coated with Super Glue Gel. The putty is stiffer than silicone, the Super Glue Gel assists the putty's bond where it lacks, reaches into crevices etc.
Place unused epoxy putty in polythene bags and re-seal. Storage at high temperatures or high humidity may reduce shelf life.
